Today was all about prep for our deposition tomorrow. There are so many documents to review, but I have to say I love reviewing them. Learning an enormous amount about Star Trek behind the scenes that I will never be able to tell anyone about! But chatting with Erin and Diana (her new right hand) leads to some fascinating legal conversations. The whole process of this lawsuit is fascinating to me, part because of my legal education (UNC Chapel Hill ’87) and part because this is one of the greatest challenges of my professional life! And I’m all out of bubble gum….
I did take off midday to meet with David Gerrold about a movie project of his we are working with him on. I introduced him to a producer we like and discussed getting David’s movie made at a price we can raise money for! Stay tuned for more details on that.

All out of bubble gum? I think there’s plausible deniability if someone interprets that as a threat 🙂 . Having once been involved in an IP lawsuit myself many years ago, I know this “discovery” phase takes a long time, and depositions are no fun. I don’t imagine we’ll be hearing what you CAN discuss for quite a while. It would make one heck of a memoir one day though. Best of luck!
